Old Rag Hike

Trent and I tackled Old Rag this weekend - people were not joking when they said it is strenuous. I attempted to continue to break in my boots - and received two lovely blisters on my heels in return. Had to happen sometime I suppose!

The trek took about 6 hours with a lunch break and a summit sun bathing break. Going up felt pretty good and I think we kept a good pace. The rock scrambling was my favorite part - aside from the beautiful summit views. Thank goodness the 90 degree humid weather felt a lot cooler at the top with the breeze. Walking down was actually a bit more uncomfortable then walking up - and for some reason people were booking past us left and right. We passed people going up - but not so much down.

I hope to get in some more hikes before I leave - but seeing as I have about 5 more weekends to go - it might only be one more hike. I have been biking almost every day to work and then try to fit in a long ride each weekend. Work is going to get in my way this week - but I hope to go swimming and biking to keep up the endurance training.
